I personally have to wear shorts and t-shirts just to get through it
I was fortunate enough to grow up in a great environment. As I was growing up there, of course, I didn’t pay very much attention to how spectacular the area truly was. Sitting here now, the first thing I would say is that my beach house where I grew up has just the most distinct seasons of any place that I have ever lived. The Winters were cold but the Heating and A/C gas furnace didn’t have to run all the time either. The Summer got pretty hot for a while, and that required a bit of Heating and A/C cooling but, again, it didn’t run all the time. However, it was the Spring and fall that were truly the most spectacular as far as nature goes. It is hard to describe just how pretty those seasons are there. I live quite a way from my old beach house site now. But, I do go to my parents beach house every Christmas. While I appreciate my folks and I appreciate that region and its beauty, I would like it if they would come to visit me instead. Instead, I have to leave my relatively sizzling and sunny spot to travel to where the snow and cold is. It does supply for a much more Christmas- like feeling to the season. I just don’t appreciate being covered in sweat my way through Christmas because my mother can’t ease up on the Heating and A/C settings. She insists on keeping the gas furnace charging on full blast throughout the afternoon and night. It has to be at least 78 degrees in the house. I don’t know how she can stand it. I personally have to wear shorts and t-shirts just to get through it. It’s so unusual to be sitting next to a Christmas tree watching it snow while wearing shorts and flip flops.
