I was always lucky enough to grow up in a special environment.
- As I was growing up there, of course, I didn’t notice how spectacular the area really was.
Sitting here now, the first thing I would say about it is that our home’s region has just the most distinct seasons of anywhere I have ever lived in the country. The winters were cold but the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C furnace didn’t run all the time either. And the summertime got hot for a while and so that required a bit of Heating, Ventilation, and A/C cooling but, again, it didn’t have to run all the time. However, it was the Spring and fall that were really the most spectacular outside. It is hard to describe just how pretty those seasons are. I live quite a way from our home now, but I try to go back home to our parents’ place each and every Christmas. While I care about our folks and I care about that region, I would much more prefer for them to come to me. Instead, I have to leave our relatively hot and sunny home to travel where the snow and cold is. It does provide for a much more Christmas-like season, though. I just hate being covered in sweat all the way through Christmas because our mother can’t ease up on the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C setting. That lady insists on keeping her furnace running all day and night. It has to be at least 80 degrees in her house. I don’t know if we can stand it. I usually have to wear shorts and t-shirts just to get through it. And it’s pretty odd to be resting next to a Christmas tree watching it snow through the window in our shorts and flip flops.
